For years a variety of lawmakers in various cities and states have tried their best to outlaw pornography and shut down adult businesses. Medical “experts” have said that porn is a major health problem and needs to be eradicated. Hell, we even had a Florida politician wanting to pass a bill that said porn was a more serious mental health problem than the shooting deaths of 17 people in Parkland, Florida.

Now a major league baseball team, the Kansas City Royals, has jumped on the porn wagon and its negativity. Here is the headline to the article: Royals Hold Event to Educate Players and Coaches on the Effects of Pornography.

I really had to laugh because the Royals are a group of mature men of various ages. This is not some Little League team of 10-12 year olds. Is it really necessary for a Major League team to take time from their daily rituals of getting ready for a long season, to have to do this? If they, and other teams, want to do something constructive about how players spend their off field time, I have a better idea. Take the time to talk to the players about a much more serious problem……DOMESTIC ABUSE! That is a subject and happening that is a far more damaging problem throughout all sports, NOT pornography. How many wives of baseball players or sports stars have been hurt by porn? Zero. How many have been hurt, mentally and physically. by being abused and attacked by their mates? There have been dozens and some of those are also very recent.

I’m sorry, but I think the Kansas City Royals, while the intent may be good, are going down a very wrong road here. There are much more important things they can discuss with their players other than porn. There are far more dangerous topics to address like alcohol, drugs, abuse and the list goes on. But porn?

Here you can read the article for yourself and then make up your own mind as to whether the Royals did the right thing or not. I just hope that this doesn’t kick start a move throughout MLB.
