This coming Sunday May 25, the 41st Annual XRCO Awards will be held in Hollywood. It is a star studded event for the industry and dozens of awards in various categories will be given out. Among the highlights will be the awards given out to those voted into the prestigious XRCO Hall of Fame. This year it is especially gratifying to see our own Paul and Tracy Allen, Pubisher and Editors of NightMoves Magazine, being inducted..
Paul began this journey back in 1988 with a local sports magazine, Sports South. I’ve known Paul and his family since 1983 and in 1989 I joined him at the magazine and have been with him ever since through all the highs and lows. Watching and being part of this growth and how sports morphed into adult entertainment has been a fun experience. Since NightMoves made its debut in 1991, it has gone on to become the longest continually running regional adult entertainment magazine in the U.S.
In addition to the monthly magazine, Paul created the idea of our own adult awards show and we held our first in 1993. This coming October we will being having our 33rd NightMoves Adult Awards Show. Other than AVN and XRCO we are the third longest running awards show in the industry. In addition to the awards shows, we have also, under Paul’s guidance and creative approach done much more than NightMoves. Over the years we have produced other magazines with varying results, like the very successful Full Throttle magazine that began in 1996 and has become a major part of the motorcycle world. Several years ago, Paul sold it to his son Tony and today it is as successful as ever and continues to grow. But that’s not all, Paul has found the time for the last 10 years or so to hold annual golf tournaments for a number of different charities that are always a success. He has put together special dance contests featuring some of the best touring club dancers in the country. He has done local radio and TV with Tracy promoting various events. We could go on and on with all that he and Tracy have accomplished with the magazines and so many other projects.
Since coming on board in 1994 Tracy changed the look and presentation of the magazine and some of the format. Her artistic skills and brilliant work with ads, posters, flyers, notices, etc. are simply the best. Her addition to NightMoves and all our other projects has been an incredible blessing over the years. Oh, by the way, she and Paul married in 1996 and will be celebrating their 29th Anniversary next month, so the induction into the Hall of Fame is an early present.
I am very proud to be associated with these two fantastic people, not only in business, but as family and friends. I was inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2019 and now the three of us who have been on this long, crazy ride all these years will all reside in the Hall of Fame together.
Congratulations Paul and Tracy you are both very worthy of this honor and our industry is better for your place in it.
