Needless-to-say, It’s been a very difficult summer here in Tampa Bay. We have had two hurricanes affect our area and now we have another one bearing down on us. Hurricane Milton is scary as it is making a bee-line right at Tampa … this has NEVER happened before as it is very unusual for a hurricane to travel west to east. Tampa has had hurricanes in the past but never a direct hit. Many people are still struggling in the aftermath of Hurricanes Debbie & Helena and there are still people without power. Our ground is already saturated and they are saying Milton will be a huge rainmaker and (as a category 3 or 4) have a lot of wind.
As much as it we hate to do it … we are going to postpone the awards show. What hurts is that Friday, Saturday & Sunday will feature beautiful, sunny, temps in the mid-80s weather … BUT … we can’t know if houses, businesses and our clubs themselves will have power, be underwater or have wind damage. We would also feel bad if we are celebrating and having fun at our Star Caravans & Awards Show while so many people may have no A/C and are in dire straights.
We have decided to push back 30 days to November 7th thru November 10th as our new dates … they are after Halloween but before Thanksgiving … a perfect fit!
We are contacting everybody and hopefully the majority of our stars will still be able to make it … The show will go on, just 30 days later … We will have the 32nd Annual NightMoves Awards!!
